Two Women Found Dead in Umande, Laikipia County: Suspected Murder and Suicide Linked to Occultism
Umande, Laikipia County – Two women were found dead in the Ngarendare Forest in Umande, Laikipia County, in what authorities suspect to be a murder-suicide incident linked to occult practices.
The bodies were discovered by herders grazing livestock in the forest. One body was found lying on the ground, while the other was hanging from a tree. The police were immediately alerted and arrived at the scene to investigate.
Among the personal items recovered at the scene were two notebooks, one containing a suicide note and the other with religious teachings. Other items included ATM cards, a pair of scissors, matatu tickets from Nairobi to Nanyuki, keys, receipts from a school, and two pairs of open ladies’ shoes.
Authorities believe that one of the women murdered the other before taking her own life. The victims are suspected to have traveled from Nairobi to the area for a mission related to occult practices. The police are working to contact the families of the deceased to understand what may have motivated them to go into the forest and die in such a tragic manner.
The bodies have been moved to the local mortuary pending autopsy and identification procedures. The police are continuing their investigation to uncover the full circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
