Al Nassr captain Cristiano Ronaldo has been honoured with a special award in recognition of his remarkable legacy in the UEFA Champions League.

The Portuguese legend is the all-time top scorer of Europe’s lead club competition with 140 goals in 183 appearances, scored in the colours of Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus. Ronaldo has finished seven separate Champions League seasons as leading scorer – more than any other player – and won the trophy five times. He is also the only player to score in three finals.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner left Europe in 2022, opting to continue his glittering career in the Roshn Saudi League, where he kick-stared an influx of stars to Saudi Arabia.

Since his arrival in the RSL, Ronaldo has scored 51 goals in 49 matches for Al Nassr, becoming the third-fastest player in the league’s history to reach the 50-goal-mark. In 2023-24, he became the league’s all-time highest scorer in a single season, with 35 goals, winning the RSL Golden Boot award.

The 39-year-old started the 2024-25 campaign strongly, with two goals in his opening two games, including a well-taken free-kick against Al Fayha on Tuesday – taking him to within one of his 900th career goal.
